Gas just crossed the $4 mark nationwide, so a lot of people are feeling it at the pump. The upside is you don’t need to overhaul your driving habits to save a little money...just a few small changes can help stretch your tank further and cut down on how often you’re filling up.
Slow down a bit - Speeds over 50 mph burn more fuel because of increased air resistance. Even going a few mph slower can make a difference.
Go easy on the AC - Air conditioning puts extra load on your engine. When you can, roll the windows down instead.
Lighten the load - Extra weight in your car makes it work harder. Cleaning out unnecessary stuff can help improve fuel efficiency.
